The Brownells Meprolight® Dovetail Cutter is a specialized gunsmithing cutter designed to machine the.250" x 74° dovetail required when modifying ramp-style front sights to accept Meprolight Universal front sight inserts. Precision-ground for accurate cuts, this cutter allows gunsmiths to create the proper dovetail profile needed for professional sight installations and custom front sight modifications.

In addition to Meprolight sight conversions, the cutter can also be used to enlarge standard front sight ramps when installing Brownells Colored Sight Inserts. Its dedicated 74° profile ensures the correct geometry for these applications, helping achieve secure sight retention and precise fitment. Designed specifically for milling machine use, the cutter provides the accuracy and consistency required for custom sight work.
