The LMT Defense MARS-L Shovelnose is a premium-duty rifle engineered to deliver exceptional reliability, accuracy, and versatility. Chambered in 5.56 NATO, this advanced platform combines LMT’s innovative monolithic upper receiver design with a proven short-stroke piston operating system for dependable performance in demanding environments.

The rifle features a 16-inch chrome-lined barrel with a 1:7 twist rate, offering excellent durability and stabilization for a wide range of bullet weights. Its monolithic Shovelnose upper receiver provides superior rigidity while incorporating an extended M-LOK handguard and continuous Picatinny rail, giving shooters ample space for optics, lights, lasers, and other accessories.

Built around the fully ambidextrous MARS-L lower receiver, the Shovelnose is designed for intuitive operation from either side. Ambidextrous controls, a crisp two-stage trigger, ergonomic grip, SOPMOD stock, and enhanced charging handle contribute to improved handling and shooter comfort. The short-stroke piston system helps reduce fouling within the receiver while promoting

reliable cycling under adverse conditions.
