The longer overall length allows easier magazine exchanges, and the extra diamond machining provides maximum grip. The release button fits both AR10/AR15 Platforms. The release button installs like the standard mil-spec release. They extended the length from .3″ to .4″, enough to enhance performance while keeping a low enough profile to avoid snagging on slings and equipment.
